All Yang channels flow from Heaven to Earth, descend-
ing from top to bottom.
Considering man with arms raised upwards:
Shou Yang-
ming
LI flows from the hand to the
head
Zu Yangming
ST continues from the head to the
foot, completing the first unit.
Shou Taiyang
SI flows from the hand to the
head,
Zu Taiyang
BL continues from the head to the
foot, completing the second
unit.
Shou Shaoyang
TW flows from the hand to the
head,
Zu Shaoyang
GB continues from the head to the
foot, completing the third unit.
All the Yin channels ascend, flowing from Earth to
Heaven:
Zu Taiyin
SP ascends from the foot to the
trunk,
Shou Taiyin
LU ascends from the trunk to the
hand, completing the first unit.
Zu Shaoyin
KI ascends from the foot to the
trunk,
Shou Shaoyin
HE ascends from the trunk to the
hand, completing the second
unit.
Zu Jueyin
LR ascends from the foot to the
trunk,
Shou Jueyin
PE ascends from the trunk to the
hand, completing the third
unit.
Yang flows in an uninterrupted way from heaven to
Earth, whereas each Yin unit is inter-spaced by two
Yang channels.
Clinically as the Yang channels have a more direct
connection, their points may be interchanged or even
combined for an enhanced effect.
