Treatment intervals
■ 3 treatments once weekly
■ 4 treatments once fortnightly
■ 3 treatments at intervals of 3–4 weeks
■ Treatments were concluded on 2/3/2001 when symptoms had subsided completely
■ One further treatment due to mild headaches on 26/5/2001
■ Sustained relief from symptoms (telephone conversation with the mother on
16/11/2001)
Summary
While headaches improved immediately after the first treatment they recurred at a reduced
level; a flare-up occurred due to a pulmonary viral infection but this was quickly resolved.
Eventually there was sustained relief from symptoms.

Medical history
■ Cradle cap since birth
■ Progressive eczema in the face and on the extensor sides of both arms and legs
■ Additional findings: chronic rhinitis, recurrent ear aches, retractile testicle on the right
side, undescended testicle on the left side
TCM diagnosis
■ Deficiency of the Middle
■ Kidney deficiency
■ Channels blocked by Heat/Phlegm
■ Wind evil
Treatment principle
Alleviate symptoms by
1. Tonifying deficient Organs/meridians
2. Clearing Heat stagnation
3. Eliminating Phlegm
4. Extinguishing Wind
5. Tonifying local points

This infant was treated with a Twin-Laser (Reimers & Janssen) with an output of 150/20 mW
(infrared). All points were treated for approximately 2–5 seconds based on RAC-palpation.
