8 Further Indications
8.2.4 Sinusitis
Description
■ Inflammation of the paranasal sinuses; often following acute rhinitis with difficulty
breathing due to nasal blockage, or in conjunction with a bronchopulmonary infection
(
8.2.3)
■ May become chronic, often with an allergic component; typical symptoms include: fa-
tigue, headache, general malaise, impaired performance, recurrent post-nasal drip per-
ceived as unpleasant
■ Chronic cases often act as an interference field (
5.7)
Sometimes patients with chronic sinusitis have become so used to the condition that they
don’t even mention it as part of their medical history. However, since chronic sinusitis can
act as an interference field it can trigger or exacerbate disorders that are not as such asso-
ciated with it. It is therefore essential that the treatment of chronic sinusitis is always in-
cluded in the treatment approach.
