Extraordinary and Secondary Channels
D
Clinical Indications
All chronic and recurrent or cyclic conditions due
to a chronic exposure to a pathogenic factor; the
Jingjin
≈
Sinew channels deal with acute conditions,
whereas the
Jingbie
≈
Divergent channels deal with
chronicity and latency.
The
Jingbie
is chosen according to the affected territory,
but also to the type of Pathogenic factor

Master Yuen further recommends the use of the
lower
Jingbie
in mild conditions, adding the upper
Jingbie
for more severe cases (see areas of confluence
below):
·
·
Bi
≈
Impediment of proximal articulations
·
·
Wei
≈
Wilting syndromes
·
·
Seasonal allergies; recurrent conditions involving
the orifices (portals)
–– Nose, throat and mouth (stomatitis, aphtae):
Yangming
–– eyes (conjunctivitis):
Shaoyang
or
Yangming
–– Ears (otitis, pruritis):
Shaoyang
·
·
Chronic and recurrent dermatological conditions
–– Wind-Cold: itchy, flaky, papular rash (not raised)
as in chronic Psoriasis
–– Wind-Heat: rednes sand pruritis
–– Wind-Damp: raisesd pustules, pruritis
·
·
Chronic respiratory infections or recurrent ear, eyes
or nose conditions
·
·
Psycho-emotional disturbances
·
·
Auto-immune diseases
·
·
Degenerative diseases, Cancer

The
Jingbie
couples may be used to reinforce the
action of the Window of Heaven points
Pathway
•
They all start at major articulations hips, shoulders
and knees, except for the TW
Jingbie.
•
The starting points are at times debated and some
consider them to start at the
He
≈
Sea points.
•
They all join the coupled channel.
•
They go to the associated
Zang-Fu
, actually to the
Gao Huang
≈
Vital membranes surrounding the organs.
•
All the
Jingbie
pass through the chest area and the
Heart.
•
The upper
Jingbie
pass through the throat area.
•
They all converge at the head, at DM-20
Baihui
ac-
cording to the French school.
•
They are all involved with a Window of Heaven,
according to the French school.
•
They present six areas of convergence.
•
There are also areas of confluence, where the lower
and upper
Jingbie
meet. These areas of confluence ex-
plain how the lower
Jingbie
may deposit (translocate)
the PF in to the territory of the upper corresponding
Jingbie
. According to Master Yuen needling these
confluent points can prevent the translocation of the
PF by releasing it.

The sequence is again putting emphasis on the pro-
tective disposition of the Yang
Jingbie
, as the Yang
Divergent channels are said to lead the Yin.
